Opportunities

The Andrews County Youth Recreation Center (ACYRC) offers a variety of recreational opportunities for the youth of Andrews and surrounding communities. Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of each sport we conduct throughout the year with an emphasis on the participation of each child no matter their ability. We believe that kids should have fun, learn to play, and compete with the emphasis more on learning skills, teamwork, and character than about just winning or losing. 

The cost for the players who participate in our programs is very low (maybe the lowest you will find anywhere) and thanks to the leadership in our county government helping to fund the program, we maintain excellent equipment and facilities. This translates into more kids being able to afford to play and learn! The county maintained fields that we play on are some of the best in West Texas.

Current Sign Ups

Early registration for the 8-9 & 10-11 year old Basketball Program 2023 will begin November 28, 2022.
Here are the details:
Who: Boys and Girls ages 8-9 & 10-11 (as of September 1, 2022)
Birth certificate required if not already on file at the Youth Center.
If you have uniforms from previous sports that have not been turned in your family will not be allowed to register for further sports until those items have been returned or paid for.
What: ACYRC Basketball Season - 4 Divisions
8-9 Boys, 8-9 Girls
10-11 Boys, 10-11 Girls
Season last from January 14, 2023 until Feb. 18, 2023.
Where: Register at the Youth Center (Monday thru Thursday from 10:00am until 6:00pm and Friday 9:00am until 5:00pm). The Rec Center office will be closed from Dec. 19, 2022 thru Jan. 2, 2023 for vacations and holidays.
When: 
Early Registration Nov. 28, 2022 thru Dec. 9, 2022 - Fee $30
Regular Registration Dec. 12 thru Dec. 16, 2022 and Jan. 3 thru Jan. 6, 2023 - Fee $40
Late Registration Jan. 9-11, 2023 - Fee $50
Coaches Meeting Jan. 5, 2023 at 6:00 pm at the Recreation Center (Coaches must attend)
Tryouts on Jan. 9, 2023 for the 8&9 and Jan. 10, 2023 for 10&11.
After January 11, 2023 no one will be allowed to register.
Why: To introduce kids to the sport of organized basketball and develop some of the fundamentals of the sport while maintaining a recreational setting.
